You will be able to customize Font, Text Color, Font Size, and other formatting choices like Underline, Italics or Bold. And you can also make clickable Hyperlinks. Because VTML is specifically designed to be simple and light, the problems associated with HTML and Javascript will be eliminated ensuring a bug-free, fast, and usable design. **Please note, VTML does not work in VT Forums, or in tip or page headings.
1. I Used VTML in the Forum and in Headings, But I Don't See Anything Why? VTML does not work in VT Forums, or in tip or page headings. 2. How Do I Use VTML? VTML is easy. Just put it before and after text that you want to change. Here's how: First start every statement with a Percent Sign (%) followed by the letter for the type of thing you want to change (c for Color, s for Size, f for Font). Then a letter for the specific thing you want to change (r for Red, 1 for Size 1, a for Arial Font) . Next, put in the Text you want to change. Lastly, end the statement with Percent Sign (%), The type of thing you changed (c for Color, s for Size, f for Font) and then an Asterisk (*) to indicate that you're done. For example: %C(for Color)R(for Red) THIS IS THE TEXT YOU WANT TO MAKE RED %C(for Color)* Please note that for some extra formatting like Bold, Underline, Italics, Centered Text, you end the statement just the way you started it with a % and the VTML like B, U, I M.. No asterisk necessary! Please start and end each new format with a separate % sign. For example if you want to make something Size 1 and Red, you will need to start with 2 percent signs and end with 2 percent signs. DO NOT LEAVE SPACES BETWEEN YOUR SYMBOLS %, c, f,s etc. 3. Can You Give Me a VTML Example Sheet? It's very simple. Here it is! 4. How About Line Breaks and Paragraphs? There's no need to code line breaks and paragraphs. You can do it directly in the entry field of your template. If you want to have 3 line spaces in your finished page, just put 3 line spaces in the edit field of your template. Easy, huh?! 5. How Do I Add 2 Formats at a Time? You must start and end each new format with a separate % sign. Adding 2 formats like color and a font to a particular text requires a separate % sign for beginning and ending each. %fa %cg THIS TEXT IS ARIAL FONT AND COLORED GREEN %f*%c* 6. Can I Add Extra Images? You cannot code for extra images. You can use the templates to upload extra pictures in your Travel Pages, Homepage, and Travelogues. 7. What Happens If I Forget to End My Statement With %* ? If you forget to close your style then whatever you have chosen will just run to the end of your text. This is far superior to HTML, where forgetting to close a tag can completely freeze your ability to enter, edit, or delete your own page. Many of you will be familiar with this problem and it's a major reason we had to discontinue HTML! 8. Can I Add Other Colors If I Know the HTML Color Codes? No HTML color codes will NOT work for VTML. 9. My VTML Doesn't Work. Why? The most common reason your VTML might not work is because you aren't using the correct code or because you have forgotten to end all formatting styles that you have started. For example, if you want Arial text that is colored red, you must start both tags and also end both tags. In this example end the Arial with %f* (end font) and the Red with %c* (end color). 10. What Are Some Common Mistakes? 1) Do not leave a space between your symbols %,c,f,s etc. 2)When ending a statement, please remember to include the symbol for what you are ending. For example, to end a color choice end with %c (for color) and then *. 3)When using multiple statements, don't forget to end each statement. For example when ending color and font changes to a text, end like this: %c (c for color)* and then also %f (f for font)*. 11. Why Do I Have An Asterisk ( *) at the End of My Statement? A few of the VTML codes do NOT require an asterisk (*). Bold (b), Underline (u), Italics (i) and Centering (m) do NOT require an asterisk. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
