Green and Friendly Ireland

by piglet44 - last update: Aug 22, 2004

Killarney Lakes

Land flowing with Guinness

We had wanted to visit Ireland for some time, mainly because of the music, and finally we did it! Unfortunately only for 2 weeks but it was a wonderful trip.

Glendalough and KiIlkenny

We arrived in Dublin but left her for the end. We went down through the Wicklow Mountains to the quaint town of Kilkenny. Lovely pubs and great craic. The Glendalough monastery is well worth a visit and the Powerscourt Waterfall was lovely and green.
Kilkenny Castle
Rock of Cashel

the Rock of Cashel

On our second day in Kilkenny we visited the Castle and the Rock of Cashel a very impressive site which looks a bit like the Buena Vista magic Castle as you drive up to it. The Irish guides are brilliant and the tours are well worth taking. Then off back to the pub in the evening for a brilliant spontaneous music session... If you love music go to Ireland and you are in for a treat!

Just a wonderful introduction. The places you stayed all sound unique and perfect. Your travelogues were also quite enlightening.
