Watch out for the stairs!

We decided in this trip not to do the usual
tourist circuit" trip of charging wildly around all the sites with a guide book,but wanted to take it a bit easy,chill out a bit and relax as well as doing a bit of sightseeing. So we did not plan on managing to "do" all the must-sees, but just a few of them.
So that means you won't find a comprehensive list of all the "things to do in Dubrovnik " here , only what we saw in our 4 days and a couple of day trips we took. Hope you like it anyway!

Well the room we found in Dubrovnik was charming, clean with an Amazing view... pity we didn't know about the 344 stairs up before we slogged up with our suitcases, when the taxi driver dropped us at the bottom of Matje Gupka street!

The Old Town

Dubrovnik is like a thousand picture postcards.With every step you take you feel like whipping your camera out and snapping the walls, the glimpse of Adriatic sea at the end of the charming alleyway, the quaint restaurants, the street cats ,islands in the bay, the boats in the marina.. and I could go on. Everything looks like it was made for you to wonder at.
You can wander in the little streets off the Stradun for days, eat icecream (sladoled??) in the Stradun, lovely fresh fish and seafood, or explore the islands . There is so much to do! We only had a few days so we did our best, but there is so much choice it's hard to know where to start!

Having made it up the steps the view of Lokrum Island and the old town was breakthtaking! Many "sobe" or rooms advertise the view... I think most of the rooms in Ploce look out this direction. Once you walk down you are right outside the Ploce Gate which is extremely convenient for sightseeing in the old town and taking boat trips.
