If you are interested in any of the above you will enjoy a day trip to the area known as the West Bank.But go with someone who knows archaeology so you will understand what you are looking at.It is important to have a good guide otherwise you will only see a load of old rocks .But an excellent guide will make the biblical scene come alive in front of your eyes, and you will understand why this area is so fascinating to so many different peoples and why it became the root of western civilization and modern monotheistic religions.
Not to mention the stunning biblical scenery full of olive trees, shepherd boys, flocks of goats, donkeys and vineyards. From the top of the site of Herodion you can also see the Dead Sea and the hills of Moab, and the Judean Desert stretched out in front of you like a map.
